6 Luxury Wines chosen to delight the palate!
This red wine represents the signature Uruguayan grape varietal of Tannat that has found its ideal soil in Garzon. "Intense and concentrated with ripe blackberry fruit and a good deal of new oak along with leather and graphite notes. Young but already delicious." todayfood.com
Rioja Vega Gran Reserva
75% Tempranillo, 20% Graciano, 5% Mazuelo
Aged for 29 months in American oak and 36 months in bottle before release. Aromas of very mature fruit (raisins, compote) are accompanied by cinnamon, vanilla & toasted bread. In the background hints of anise and liquorice are also found. Incredibly long palate with intense flavours of fruit, oak and spice. Heavenly!
Little Beauty Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2021
A limited edition Marlborough Sauvignon made by former Cloudy Bay winemaker Eveline Fraser, this aptly named “little beauty” is good enough to rival the wines of her previous employer, but is available for a fraction of the price.
Aromas of honeydew melon, lemon grass and capsicum with a smoky, mineral character. Refreshing and medium bodied on the palate with citrus notes beautifully balanced by flavours of pink grapefruit and basil.
Gotas de Mar Albarino
Brilliant pale lemon colour. Intense aromas of peaches, white flowers and a hint of fresh sea breeze. On the palate, well balanced with stone fruits and light minerality. Lingering finish, with a mouth watering acidity and long complex persistence
Simonnet-Febvre Cremant Brut
This dazzles with bright lemon zest notes, apple pie and cream, pear sorbet, yeasty bread and a Chablis-esque minerality. We hope it won’t upset a producer that has been crafting such exquisite sparkling wine for almost 200 years, but we just adore this with fish and chips!
Elysium Black Muscat
One of the very few black-skinned Muscats. Elysium is Greek for Heaven, a fitting association for this excellent wine made by Andrew Quady. Virtually black in colour, with a rose-like aroma, very intense on the palate and full of fantastic rich velvety fruit. One of the few wines that can stand up to chocolate puddings. Or try it poured over ice cream for the ultimate after-dinner treat!
