One of the first releases from the Waterford Distillery’s Single Farm Origin series. This single malt Irish whisky was distilled using a single vintage of Overture barley grown on the south coast of Wexford by Ed Harpur on his Bannow Island farm. Surrounded by sea and grown on sandy soil, this is an excellent exploration of barley’s terroir in relation to whisky. The spirit was aged in a combination of French and American oak, and bottled at 50%ABV.
Nose – Soft lemon, crunchie bars, fresh barley with a hint of vanilla.
Palate – Citrus, granola, summer berry tart, sultana and peppercorns.
Finish – mellow oak, honeydew melon and leafy mint.
