Thomas Barton Reserve Medoc – elegant, seductive red wine, a blend which is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (65%) complemented by Merlot (35%). Vineyards grow in the prestigious Medoc region, including coastal lagoons, sand dunes and pine forests. Located between the Atlantic coast and the estuary of the Gironde, the region has unique micro-climatic conditions that are best suited for vineyards. For thousands of years, the rivers Garonne, Dordogne and the Gironde estuary in merging, bring a wealth of minerals, mud and gravel. These deposits have accumulated at the junction of the rivers and become the fundamental basis of the Medoc region. Well-drained, light-reflecting, mineral-rich soil are ideal for growing slow-ripening red grapes.
Elegant well-structured wine with concentrated flavour, typical varietal characteristics of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, ripe berry notes and soft, silky tannins. Just great French wine-making, with depth and complexity.
